Becker taking part in World Book Day.

Becker UK have decided that throughout 2022 we are going to support HEY Children’s University and make a real difference to the local community. World Book Day this year is on March 03rd and HEY Children’s University are looking for help to donate books to children who do not currently have access to reading books.

 

Sadly 1 in 10 children in Yorkshire and the Humber do not own one book. 

 

Becker UK would like to help change this and help children to develop a love of reading.

 

Children’s University have drawn up a pre-approved book list and we are asking staff if they would like to buy one (or more) books from the list. As with the Christmas gifts, Becker UK as a company will be purchasing some books as well. The books that we buy will be distributed to schools in local areas of disadvantage and given to the children who need them most.

Season's greetings from Becker, supporting local charity Hull and East Yorkshire Children's University.

“On Wednesday 08th December Becker colleagues delivered 35 presents to the Hull Children’s University, gifts that will go to children who have been through or are going through really tough times at the moment. The Xmas gifts for the children within the charity were bought by members of staff at Becker UK and in addition the company itself bought some extra gifts for the children. Hull Children’s University mentions “We were very pleased to get 35 gifts purchased, it will make a huge difference to these children this Christmas”

This Christmas, Becker have decided to support and encourage charitable donations working with a local charity. Alongside HEY Children’s University, Becker will donate presents for children in some of the poorest backgrounds in Hull and East Yorkshire.

 

According to a spokesperson at HEY Children’s University

 

“This year, some families in Hull sadly won’t have a Christmas as many of them have experienced great financial difficulties as a result of the pandemic. HEY Children’s University believes that every child should have the opportunity to experience the magic of Christmas, so we are asking for help to be able to provide presents and a Christmas dinner for those families.”

 

Becker will be joining HEY Children’s University with the aim of purchasing one gift per child and are encouraging all of our employees to take part by purchasing a gift and also making a donation to the charity. These gifts will then be delivered to the families by the HEY CU elves a couple of days before Christmas. Becker are keen to make a real difference this year and really hope the children we are able to help have a great Christmas time.
