BECKER UK is proud to continue supporting Crystal Doors in their commitment to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact. Having received prestigious recognition for their efforts, including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development (2021), Crystal Doors remains dedicated to achieving carbon neutrality. With the support of BECKER’s advanced systems, we are confident they will continue to optimise productivity while maximising energy efficiency, further strengthening their pledge to a greener future.
Together, BECKER UK and Crystal Doors exemplify how innovation and sustainability can work in harmony to drive environmental responsibility and deliver long-term value in woodworking operations.
Since 1994, Crystal Doors has been manufacturing vinyl wrap doors for the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom markets. They provide made-to-measure bespoke products with the widest choice of designs in the vinyl door market. They also offer free technical advice and are the UK’s only 24-hour turnaround manufacturer.
Crystal Doors has relied on BECKER vacuum pump technology since 2006. To support their operations, BECKER recently supplied three BCV Claw Vacuum Pumps, each paired with a dedicated control panel on every CNC machine. This configuration ensures maximum operational flexibility and the added security of duty-standby functionality to maintain pump uptime, even during routine servicing.
In addition to performance improvements, Crystal Doors benefits from an estimated 20% reduction in energy consumption and a noticeable decrease in noise levels, a critical factor for equipment running continuously, 24 hours a day.
“Crystal Doors chose BECKER because within the woodworking industry, they’ve got the most technical ability to be able to understand the challenges that each of us face in trying to get our productivity up in the UK in manufacturing, and it’s exactly what happened when they came to Crystal Doors because we’d had other quotes and BECKER beat everybody, hands down.”
Richard Hagan, Managing Director
Dry Claw Vacuum Pumps are engineered to deliver reliability, efficiency, and sustainability. Their oil-free, contact-free compression process is achieved through two claw-shaped rotors rotating in opposite directions within the compression chamber, without touching each other or the pump housing. This innovative design minimises wear, reduces maintenance, and ensures long-lasting performance for our customers.
As a modern alternative to traditional rotary vane vacuum pumps, claw technology introduces a different operating principle that allows BECKER to offer a complete range of vacuum solutions tailored to diverse industrial needs of all working principles.
1. Reduced Maintenance, Lower Costs
With fewer serviceable parts, our claw series helps minimise downtime and reduce operating costs, so you can focus on what matters most.
2. Optimised Filtration for Easy Monitoring
The transparent filter cover allows quick visual checks for contamination, while the larger filter surface extends replacement intervals, ensuring uninterrupted performance.
3. Durable and Reliable Construction
Manufactured with high-quality materials, BCV vacuum pumps are designed to perform reliably even in the most demanding industrial environments.
At BECKER, we are proud to be a trusted manufacturing partner to the woodworking sector, delivering reliable, energy-efficient vacuum solutions that drive both productivity and sustainability across the UK and internationally. Would you like to discover how BECKER can support your woodworking operations, just as we were able to with Crystal Doors? Our technical team is here to support you each step of the way.
